The Brighton Bay Program is a unique public-sector initiative that originated in 1978 at Brighton Technical School, and now occupies a purpose-built facility at Elwood College. The Program has a long-standing reputation for producing students with high-quality, thoughtful folios that showcase a wide variety of skills and mediums.

The Program emphasises both conceptual development and technical skills and fosters an approach that recognises both traditional practices and innovative techniques.

In addition to nine areas of study, special focus classes are offered to interested students during the year. These may include, for example, Textile Printing, Drawing for Industrial Design, Fashion Illustration and introductory studies in animation or web-delivery software.

Upon completion of the course, some students may choose to go directly into the workforce. Most, however, move into further study.

Equipped with a multi-skilled and diverse folio, students are prepared for study in a wide variety of disciplines. Each year, our graduating students are accepted into a wide variety of University and tafe courses.

Students are encouraged to develop a commitment to achieving a high standard of finish and an investigative and creative approach to their work. The success of Brighton Bay graduates is widely acclaimed, with many going on to receive awards for their achievement from their universities and from industry.
