New Venue for Graduate Exhibition is a hit!
Brightspace in St Kilda was the venue for the 2011 Graduate Exhibition. At the opening night on Friday November 4 a handsome crowd filled the space. The exhibition was officially opened by Gene Bawden, Course Coordinator in Visual Communication at Monash University. He spoke inspiring words about the importance globally of artists' and designers' contribution to documenting, participating in and pushing for advancements in history and society. He encouraged parents and students to embrace and celebrate students' paths into the creative fields. He praised the students and teachers of the program for the standard of work at the exhibition and historically, having seen Brighton Bay folios at Monash interviews for many years. He announced the introduction of three Monash Scholarships for three graduating Brighton Bay students accepted into the Visual Communication Degree. Gene together with Kerry Williams, General Manager of Deans Art, another major sponsor of the exhibition, presented Brighton Bay Excellence Awards.
